The Department of Computer Science & Information Technology was established in the year 1998. Over the years, the department has developed to become a center for imparting in-depth technical knowledge and opportunities for innovation and research through well equipped state -of-the-art computer facilities and dedicated faculty. The department aims at ingraining the spirit of ingenuity, innovativeness and technical proficiency in the students through regular guidance and rigorous practice. Apart from teaching at graduate and postgraduate level, the faculty is also involved in quality research, consultancy and software development.

 

Since 2007, the department has its own Board of Studies, for framing the curriculum. The suggestions from the staff, students, parent, alumane, academic peers and subject experts are reviewed and updated regularly and new programmes are introduced with the approval of the BOS.

To promote research, Ph.D. and M.Phil. programmes were introduced from the year 2010. Admissions for the same are held through an annual entrance test (RET) conducted by IIS (deemed to be) University.
