Objective: 

The main objective of this subject is to impart strong knowledge about the fundamental principles of animation in addition to an invaluable appreciation for observational techniques & the art of planning.

Unit I: 

Introduction to the 12 Principles of Animation- Squash and Stretch, Anticipation, Staging, Straight Ahead Action and Pose to Pose, Follow Through and Overlapping Action, Slow In and Slow Out, Arc, Secondary Action, Timing, Exaggeration, Solid Drawing and Appeal.

Unit II: 

Timing and Spacing, Three Ways to Animate, X- sheet. Studying line of action, drawing action figures.

Ball Bouncing, Walks, Jumps and skips, weight lift, arm movement, timing, staggers, wave and whip action.

Unit IV: 

Bird fly, canon blast, double take, Basic animal walk pattern.

Unit V: 

Introduction to expressions- Types of expressions. Change of expression.
