Objective: 

The main objective of the subject is to impart the knowledge about the basic elements of the Art, Drawing including line, volume, space, texture and color.

Introduction to Elements of Design- Lines, Shapes, Mass, Texture, Color. Introduction to basic shapes- Circle, Square, and Triangle. Playing with shade and shadow. Lights & Texture- Texture through light, Patterns, Interacting Patterns.

Introduction to Principles of Design- Balance, Proximity, Alignment, Repetition or Consistency, Contrast, White Space.

Unit III: 

Introduction to Perspective: Definition, Uses and Types of Perspective- One point, Two point, Three point, Multiple point. Bird’s eye view, Insect’s eye view, Forced Perspective. Converging Points, Vanishing Points, Observer’s Points.

Unit IV: 

Introduction to Typography. Definition of Type Faces and Fonts. Difference between Type Faces and Fonts. Classification- Serif, Script, Display, Proportional vs. Mono-spaced. Weight and Styles and Mood.

Various Mediums :- Pencil Colors, Charcoal, Pen and Ink, Water Colors, Poster Colors, Oil Pastel Colors, other waste material such as sand, stones, grass, hardboard, Colored papers & clay etc.
