CO5. Develop art pieces integrating visuals, typography, concepts and themes.

Introduction to Elements of Design & basic shapes:

Color, Line, Shape, Space, Texture, Value. Circle, Square, and Triangle. Playing with shade and shadow. Lights & Texture- Texture through light, Patterns.

Balance, Contrast, Emphasis/Dominance, Harmony, Movement/Rhythm, Proportion, Repetition/Pattern, Unity, Variety.

Introduction to Perspective:

Uses and Types of perspective: One-point perspective, Two-point perspective, Three-point perspective, Four-point perspective, Zero-point perspective. Bird’s eye view, Insect’s eye view, Forced Perspective. Converging Points, Vanishing Points, Observer’s Points.

Typography:

Anatomy of a letter & type, Typefaces, Typeface Family Typographic Measurement: Point and Pica, Text Type and Display Type, Typographic Standards, Typographic Guidelines

Classification of Type:

Old Style, Transitional Period, Modern, Slab Serif, Sans Serif, Script, Decorative Etc. Selection of a TypeFace in Design-Clarity: Readability and Legibility, Integration with Visuals, Concept and Theme.
