Objective: 

The course will enable the students to:

  1. Learn the fundamentals of Graphic Design terminologies from concept to final product.
  2. Develop the knowledge of elements of art and the principles of design.

Introduction to Photoshop: Overview of Photoshop interface, understanding bitmap and vector images, navigating panels and tools

Basic Image Editing: Crop, resize, rotate, and transform images, understanding resolution and image size, understanding file formats

Color Correction and Enhancement: Basic color correction techniques adjusting brightness and contrast, sharpening and blurring images

Layers and Masks: Understanding layers and layer properties, working with masks to isolate parts of an image, basic compositing techniques

Selection Tools: Understanding selection tools, making and refining selections, using selection tools to edit specific parts of an image.

Typography and Text Formatting: Understanding basic typography concepts, formatting text in Photoshop, creating text effects

Web Graphics: Creating graphics for the web, optimizing images for web use, understanding web file formats

Advanced Techniques:Working with selections and channels, using filters and effects, automating tasks and creating actions

Saving and Exporting: Understanding file formats and their uses, saving and exporting files for print and web, preparing files for output
