Objective: 

This course will enable students to

  • Develop critical analysis and evaluation skills for research papers.
  • Identify research gaps, methodologies, and advancements in Computer Science.
  • Enhance presentation and technical writing abilities.
  • Encourage scholarly discussions and peer feedback.

 

The candidate must review published research relevant to their field under the guidance of their research supervisor. They may refer to high-impact journals, books, and research articles. As part of the evaluation, they will prepare review reports and deliver a Continuous Assessment (CA) presentation, followed by a Semester-End presentation.

The candidate must follow the Paper review techniques comprising of:

  • Critical review by identifying key components like Objective, Problem Statement, methodology, Tools/Techniques, Dataset, results, and observations.
  • Assess research significance and identify research gaps.

Referencing style should be APA and must refer bye-laws for the different citing style.

Assessment Structure:

  1. Continuous Assessment
    • Presentation on minimum 10 research papers
    • Critical review and discussion
    • Evaluation based on clarity, depth, and research insights
    • Written report
  2. Semester-End Evaluation
    • Comprehensive review of minimum 20 research papers
    • Written report summarizing key insights, trends, and future directions
