Objective: 

Students will learn how to create brushes by capturing drawn shapes and applying various Brush Dynamics to create a variety of brushes to achieve specific effects. This course covers the Photoshop aspect of creating realistic and dynamic backgrounds using photo references and painting techniques. 

Photoshop Basics- The Photoshop Workspace, Brush Basics, Pen Tool Basics. Photoshop Brushes- Capture Brush Tip Shapes, Adding and changing Brush Dynamics, Painting and Blending Techniques.

Photoshop Vector Tools- Creating Shape Layers and Paths, Stroking Paths with Brushes. Photoshop Selection and Masking Techniques- Creating, Saving, and Loading Selections, Combining and Modifying Selections, Channels and Masking Techniques.

Photoshop Smart Objects, Seamless Tiling Techniques, Light and Shadow, Advanced Painting Techniques, Creating the illusion of volume and space with light and shadow.

Distortion, Caricatures, and Panoramas, Texture and surface Texture Effects, Photographic Effects, Photoshop Type Effects.

Introduction to Matte Painting- Utilizing cloning techniques to remove unwanted elements, Transform the shot into a classic day for night technique using adjustment layers and paths. Lighting condition, foggy/overcast painting with a seascape theme. Using references of Ancient historical locations, or 3d models to build your scene and create a believable futuristic city. Backlighting with a sci-fi city theme.
