This module is designed to help students in having practical experience in creating simple web sites.
Introduction to HTML 5: The HTML5 DOCTYPE, Semantic elements: <article>, <aside>,<details>,<figcaption>,<figure>,<footer>,<header>,<main>,<mark>,<nav>,<section>,<summary>,<time>. Title, Heading, paragraphs, quotations, comments, colors, images, tables, lists, block and inline elements, Iframes, links.
Structural Elements: <details>, <dialog>, <summary>, <meter>.
Forms: Introduction to HTML Forms, form element, input types, input attributes.
Media: <audio>, <video>, <source>, <embed>.
Introduction to CSS 3: Cascading Style Sheets: Understanding Style Sheets, CSS Syntax, and Applying Style Sheets to HTML document. <DIV> tag, Using class and ID, Developing Style Sheets: inline, internal and external.
Styling Backgrounds, Styling borders, Styling Text, Styling Fonts, Styling Links, Styling Lists, Styling Tables, transitions, Margin.
CSS Grouping/Nesting, CSS Dimension, CSS Display, CSS Positioning, CSS Floating, CSS Align, CSS Pseudo-class, CSS Pseudo-element, CSS Navigation Bar, CSS Image Galary, CSS Image Opacity, CSS Attribute Selectors, Styling Links.
Introduction to Responsive Web Design
Use of text editors in introductory classes followed by the use of advanced tools to develop web sites.
Learning outcomes :
Students will be able to:
- Write syntactically correct HTML documents and CSS style sheets.
- Inspect syntax errors in HTML and CSS code.
- Apply responsive web design techniques to make pages display well on all devices.
- Design and develop static website with HTML5 and CSS3.
