Objective: 

  The course will enable the students to

  1. List the principles of Web page designing concept.
  2. Explain the basics in web design covering HTML & CSS.
  3. Implement a web application using web programming to enhance front end user experience.
  4. Evaluate and validate web applications for conformance to the latest W3C markup standards
  5. Debug interactive client‐side and server‐side web applications.
  6. Formulate the appropriate programming environment for developing dynamic client‐side and server‐ side web applications

  1. Develop static pages (using Only HTML) of an online Book store. The pages should resemble: www.amazon.in

The website should consist the following pages:

  • Home page, Registration and user Login
  • User Profile Page and Books catalog
  • Shopping Cart and Payment By credit card
  • Order Conformation
  1. Validate the Registration, user login, user profile and payment by credit card pages using JavaScript.
  2. Create a table to show your class time-table.
  • Use tables to provide layout to your HTML page describing your university infrastructure.
  • Use <span> and <div> tags to provide a layout to the above page instead of a table layout.
  • Use frames such that page is divided into 3 frames 20% on left to show contents of pages, 60% in center to show body of page, remaining on right to show remarks.
  • Embed Audio and Video into your HTML web page.
  1. Create an e-book having left side of the page name of the chapters and right side of the page the contents of the chapters clicked on left side.
  2. Apply in-line CSS to change colors of certain text portion, bold, underline and italics certain words in your HTML web page. Also change background color of each paragraph using in-line CSS.
  3. Write all the above styling in CSS in different file (.css) and link it to your webpage such that changes made in CSS file are immediately reflected on the page. Group paragraphs into single class and add styling information to the class in CSS.
  4. Designing Quiz Application Personal Information System using JavaScript
  5. Write a JavaScript for Loan Calculation.
  6. Develop and demonstrate a HTML file that includes JavaScript that uses functions for the following problems:

a) Parameter: A string

Output: The position in the string of the left-most vowel

b) Parameter: A number

Output: The number with its digits in the reverse order

  1. Write a JavaScript program to display information box as soon as page loads.
  2. Write a JavaScript program to change background color after 5 seconds of page load.
  3. Write a JavaScript program to dynamically bold, italic and underline words and phrases based on user actions.
  4. Write a JavaScript program to display a hidden div (e.g. showing stats of a player when user clicks on his name).
  5. Develop PHP program using Arrays, control structures, looping structures and Form Handling
  6. Using PHP and MySQL, develop a program to accept book information viz. Accession number, title, authors, edition and publisher from a web page and store the information in a database and to search for a book with the title specified by the user and to display the search results with proper headings.
  7. Write an AJAX program for parsing a JSON file and formatting the output.
  8. Develop a web application for Airline Reservation System using PHP & AJAX.
  9. Develop a car showroom inventory web application with 2-tier architecture. Use JSP and JDBC
  10. Develop a real estate web application with n-tier architecture. Use JSP, Servlets and JDBC.

The application should be able to add and search all properties such as rental/own, individual/apartment and duplex/semi-duplex.
