The Department of CS & IT organized a splendid Orientation Programme to formally welcome first year students of BCA, B.Sc.(H) Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence and B.Sc. (H) Multimedia and Animation Batch 2023-2024 on 10 August, 2023. The aim of the session was to make the students be aware of the fact of available future careers for them and make themselves a pivotal role in the society.

A formal introduction with the faculty members and administrative staff, made it a healthy interaction. The students were acquainted to the vision, growth and culture of IIS (Deemed to be University) by Head of the Department, Dr. Ruchi Nanda. She pointed out that the students should be equipped with multi-skills, right attitude, time management and must desire for learning and positive restlessness for self-improvement. She also briefed about the various curricular and co-curricular activities and all the other facilities available in the department. The students were informed about all the undergraduate, post graduate and COSD programmes offered by the department.

Dr. Navneet Sharma, Additional Head, explained the structure of Curricula including Choice Based Credit System (CBCS), Scheme of Examination, and Assessment Rubrics. Dr. Priyanka Verma briefed the students about the IISU and department website.

The department also organized a motivational lecture, wherein Mr. Rajneesh Kumar Jain, Associate Professor, Krishna engineering College, Ghaziabad delivered an outstanding speech and interacted with students, advising them to focus on building a strong character and improving personality, to work smartly, to always accept failures happily and always try to turn them into success. He advised students to always learn from their mistakes and failures.

The session concluded with closing remarks by Director Dr. Anubha Jain.

The second phase of Orientation was organized on 26 August 2023 at AV Hall. The main highlight of the event was the interactive session with esteemed alumnae Ms. Nandini Rathore, Senior QA Engineer, Metacube and Ms. Suhani Ajmera, Graphics Designer and Marketing Operator, Remax Millenium who have made remarkable strides in their respective careers in the field of technology. They shared their experiences, career journeys, and valuable advice with the students.

Three other alumnae Ms. Anshika Jain, Ms. Prerna Fatnani and Ms. Nishtha Bhargava also visited the university and had interacted with the students.

Apart from the enriching alumna interaction, the event featured several fun-filled activities that allowed students to relax and bond with their peers. The Alumna Interaction and Fun-Filled Activity event was a resounding success. It provided students with valuable insights from accomplished alumnae and offered opportunities for them to unwind, network, and develop important skills. The event not only strengthened the bond between current students and alumnae but also inspired the current generation to aspire to great heights in their careers.

Overall the first Orientation session was very informative for the students.
