A Guest Lecture on “Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)” was organized by the Department of CS & IT on 13 December 2022, led by Dr. Radhika Sharma, Associate Professor, Department of Biotechnology. Attended by 41 BCA students, the lecture introduced IPR and its significance, including patents, copyrights, and trademarks. Dr. Sharma explained the patent filing process, its limitations, and the purpose of intellectual property laws in fostering innovation. She also discussed other types of rights, such as trade secrets and moral rights, and covered IT-related IPR, including software and data protection. The session was highly informative and well-received by both students and faculty, concluding with a vote of thanks to Dr. Sharma for her insightful presentation.
