International Conference on AI Systems and Sustainable Technologies (IISU-ASSET 2025)

The two-day International Conference on AI Systems and Sustainable Technologies (IISU-ASSET 2025) was held at IIS (Deemed to be University) on 28th and 29th March 2025.

The conference was inaugurated with an invocation to Goddess Saraswati, followed by the lighting of the lamp by our distinguished guests. Prof. T.N. Mathur, Vice Chancellor of IIS (Deemed to be University), extended a warm welcome to the chief guest, Dr. Manpreet Singh Manna, Vice Chancellor of Chandigarh University (former Director of AICTE, SWAYAM), and all the resource persons and participants.

Prof. P.J. John, Dean of the Sciences, introduced the participants to the aims and objectives of the conference. He emphasized that conferences are a great platform to meet various people, share research ideas, and foster multiple collaborations.

Before the start of the conference, the book of abstracts was formally released by the dignitaries on the dais, marking the commencement of the event.

The keynote address was delivered by the esteemed Chief Guest, Dr. Manpreet Singh Manna, who reinforced the enthusiasm and spirit of the entire audience present with his encouraging words. Speaking on the theme "Empowering Global Education Sustainability with Artificial Intelligence," he emphasized the transformative role of AI in revolutionizing education and fostering sustainable development. He highlighted that students are the foundation stones of VIKSIT BHARAT, an initiative taken by our Honorable Prime Minister. He advised us to use technology more wisely so that we remain the masters of emerging AI technology and take our nation to greater heights by becoming VISHVA GURU.

As the Guest of Honor, Dr. Amit Joshi, Director of the Global Knowledge Research Foundation, India, addressed the resource persons and participants during the inaugural session. He emphasized the importance of creating a sustainable future to ensure a resilient and responsible way of life. He highlighted the need to integrate sustainability across various domains, fostering innovation and long-term environmental consciousness.

The Inaugural Session concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Ruchi Nanda, Conference Convenor and Head of the Department of CS&IT, IIS (Deemed to be University), Jaipur. She expressed her gratitude to the dignitaries on the dais, esteemed guests, speakers, and participants for their valuable presence and contributions to the conference.

Technical Session I I was chaired by Dr. C.K. Kumbharana (Professor & Head, Saurashtra University, Rajkot, Gujarat) and Dr. Amit Joshi  (Director, GR Foundation Ahmedabad, Gujarat). The speakers for the session were Dr. Ajay Data (Managing Director, Data Group of Industries, Jaipur) and Prof. Srinivas Padamanbuni (Co-Founder,testAlng.com Bengaluru India). Dr. Ajay Data acquainted the audience with swarm technologies, the concept of smarter cities, adaptive security, and autonomous spacecraft. Prof. Srinivas Padamanbuni shared his views on how science forms the base for nanotechnology and reflects society's needs.

Technical Session II was chaired by Dr. O.P. Rishi (Associate Professor University of Kota, Kota) and Dr. Ruchi Nanda( Head,CS&IT, IIS Deemed to be University,Jaipur). The speakers for the session were Prof. Ramesh C. Poonia , (Professor, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Delhi NCR Campus, India), Prof. Rosalina Bessa Babo (Professor, Polytechnic Institute of Porto, Portugal) and Prof. R.J. Ramteke(Senior Professor & Director, School of CS, Kavayitri Bahinabai Chaudhari North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon).Prof. Ramesh C. Poonia discussed how AI is driving sustainability by optimizing resources and creating innovative solutions for global challenges. Prof. Rosalina Bessa Babo highlighted that the AI revolution brings transformative benefits but also presents significant risks, such as ethical concerns, job displacement, and security threats. Addressing these challenges requires careful regulation and responsible development. Prof. R.J. Ramteke presented his computational model that integrates principles from Buddhist philosophy to classify consciousness and mental factors.

A special session on Women in Science (Biology) was chaired by Dr. Anubha (Director, School of CS & IT, IIS (Deemed to be University), Jaipur) and Dr. Nidhi Gupta (Professor, IIS (Deemed to be University), Jaipur). The Guest of Honor for the session, Dr. Anjali Krishnamurthy (Retd. Professor, Department of Physics, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur), emphasized the importance of science for women in day-to-day life.

Awards were presented to Dr. Sona Charles, Scientist (Bioinformatics), ICAR-Indian Institute of Spices Research, Calicut, Kerala; Dr. Barkha Khilwani, Postdoctoral Scientist, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur; and Dr. Sudipti Arora, Research Scientist/Assistant Director, BLal Biotech, Jaipur, for their special contributions to the field of biosciences. Their groundbreaking work has significantly advanced knowledge and innovation in this critical area.

The panelist team, including Dr. K. Sri Manjari, Dr. Sona Charles, Dr. Barkha Khilwani, and Dr. Amita Sharma, enlightened the audience with their deep insights into the latest innovations and challenges in AI-driven technologies. Through an engaging Q&A session, they shared valuable perspectives on how AI is revolutionizing data analysis, drug discovery, and personalized medicine, offering a glimpse into the future of AI in bioinformatics and systems biology.

The first day ended with three concurrent oral presentation sessions, where 27 research papers were presented by participants from various universities across the globe in hybrid mode.

The second day of the conference commenced with a poster presentation session, featuring 26 insightful posters. The session was judged by Dr. Ashish Kumar Dwivedi and Dr. C.K. Kumbharana, who evaluated the research contributions and innovations on display.

This was followed by five concurrent oral presentation sessions, where 49 research papers were presented by participants from various universities across the globe in hybrid mode.

Technical Session III was chaired by Dr. Meenakshi Tripathi (Department of Computer Engineering, MNIT, Jaipur) and Dr. Swati V. Chande , (Professor & Head, Head, ISIM, Jaipur). The speakers for the session were Mr. Aninda Bose (Executive Editor, Springer Nature London) and Dr. Lov Kumar (Assistant Professor Department of Computer Engineering, NIT Kurukshetra). Mr. Aninda Bose gave insights into proper citation, avoiding plagiarism, and reporting results honestly while writing a research paper. He also enlightened the audience on preparation, editing, and navigating the publication process. Dr. Lov Kumar focused on developing AI systems that are transparent and interpretable, enabling medical professionals to understand and trust AI-driven decisions.

Technical Session IV was chaired by Dr. Nishtha Kesswani (Associate Professor, Central University of Rajasthan, Kishangarh) and Dr. Suresh Kaswan (Professor & Head, Chandigarh, University, Chandigarh) , with the speakers being Dr. K. Sri Manjari (Head, Operations Genepowerx, Hyderabad, Mr. Navven Balani (Global Managing Director & Chief Technologist -Tech Sustainability Innovation, Accenture, Mumbai) and Prof. Dilip Kumar Sharma (Dean, International Relations & Academic Collaborations, GLA University). Dr. K. Sri Manjari discussed strategies for effectively communicating complex scientific concepts to a broader audience. She emphasized clarity, simplicity, and engaging storytelling to make science accessible and captivating. Mr. Navven Balani explored how software development can reduce environmental impact by optimizing energy efficiency, as well as the importance of eco-friendly coding practices and sustainable tech solutions for a greener future. Prof. Dilip Kumar Sharma highlighted how advanced machine learning technologies are driving automation and efficiency in industries, contributing to sustainable practices.

Significant dignitaries from various countries, such as Portugal, Romania, the USA, and the UK, contributed extensively to the conference and were highly appreciated. The key highlights of the sessions included Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence in Medical Imaging, Cybersecurity, Deep Learning, Recognition and Neural Networks, Generative AI, AI in Academics, Block chain and more. A total of 297 research papers were received for the conference, of which 76 were registered and presented by a diverse group of research scholars and professors, along with 26 posters.

The conference ended with the Valediction Ceremony, during which the conference report was presented by Organizing Secretary Dr. Navneet Sharma. Prof. K.S. Sharma, Advisor, IISU, congratulated the organizers on the successful execution of the conference. Our Chief Guest, Shri V. Saravana Kumar, IAS, Secretary, Dept. of Science & Technology, Govt. of Rajasthan, blessed the organizers and participants with his encouraging words for accomplishing the conference's objective of bringing together experts to explore how artificial intelligence can drive innovations in sustainability, such as renewable energy, waste management, and climate solutions. IAS Shri V. Saravana Kumar, Advisor Prof. K.S. Sharma, and Conference Director Dr. Anubha Jain awarded certificates along with mementos to the winning team members for Best Paper and Poster Presentations. As a final note, a formal vote of thanks was delivered by Conference Convenor Dr. Ruchi Nanda.
