Module on 'Technical Skills' conducted under the ‘College to Corporate Program’ by IIT-Bombay

The focus of this initiative was to prepare students to changeover from the informal campus environment to a formal corporate environment. The programme was restricted to students belonging to participating remote centers. Major contents covered in this course were Version control ,Types: Central, Distributed. SDLC, Agile / Scrum, Python , Architectural MVC Pattern: Model, View, Controller, Big Data. The duration of the course was from 20 February to 18 March 2018. This course was run by IIT Bombay in collaboration with J.P. Morgan. The Course was executed in Hybrid mode and following activities were essential part of the programme:

  • Online work by individual participants
  • Face-to-face interaction sessions (dates were 24 Feb, 10 and 17 March, 2018)
  • Weekly activities in RCs

Around 70 students got registered in this course. IIS University being a remote center arranged the interactive session (F2F) on assigned dates for these students. In interactive sessions, students openly discussed their queries related with SDLC, MVC, Big Data etc with course faculty via AVIEW. They also participated in weekly activities. Students were able to learn about python and agile projects. They also learnt about currently running projects in the artificial intelligence domain.
