Objective of the workshop/seminar/activity:  to acquaint the faculty members about various other platforms which are helpful in effective teaching and efficient student assessment

Description:

The Department of Computer Science organised an online three day refresher program on "Digital Platforms for Online Teaching & Evaluation" for the faculty members of the University on 24 and 25 April 2020. The IISU faculty has been taking online classes successfully during the lockdown period. Through this program they were further exposed to various other platforms which are helpful in effective teaching and efficient student assessment. LMS  like Canvas and Google Classroom, Quizzers like Kahoot, Educaplay and class marker, Remote Desktop Sharing platform like Teamveiwer, Secure Meeting platform like Cisco WebEx, Video recording software like Loom and Camtasia were discussed. The program turned up to be informative for all.

The Refresher Programme on  "Digital Platforms for Online Teaching & Evaluation" concluded with a troubleshooting and experience sharing session on 30th April 2020. The session was organized keeping in view the current lock down situation where online teaching and learning has become indispensable.The participants learned about various aspects of the online availability of different platforms for Teaching and Evaluation where teaching through virtual learning platforms has become necessary to keep connected to the students. 

The participants were given online demonstrations on using various online softwares to make their teaching and learning easy and accessible by students. Apart from  experience sharing, few problems faced by the faculty members while installing and using these technologies were also taken up and sorted by the trainers. Faculty members also shared their future  plans of incorporating these platforms for efficient online teaching and effective assessment of the students. The faculty members appreciated the efforts put in by the trainers and also gave positive feedback about the information conveyed by the means of this awareness programme.

Outcome of the activity/event/seminar/workshop: the faculty members were introduced to various platforms which are helpful in effective teaching and efficient student assessment.
