Report on Online Workshop on “Cyber Security and Awareness”

Objective of the Event: Objective of this programme is to make the end user aware about the safe use of computer resources and legal remedies against cyber violence.
In collaboration with DR. CBS Cyber Foundation, IIS (Deemed to be University) organized a comprehensive Online Workshop on "Cyber Security and Awareness" from November 9 to November 19, 2022. The primary objective of the program was to impart knowledge and awareness among participants about safe computer usage, protection against cyber threats, and legal remedies for cyber violence. The workshop was conducted online, with specific topics covered each day to ensure a thorough understanding of various aspects of cybersecurity.
1. Day 1 (Wednesday, 9 Nov 2022): Offline
• Topic: Introduction to Cyber Security Domain
• Content: Safe use of Computer, Laptop, Tablet (Including Password protection of devices, Installation and updating of Operating System, anti-virus, anti-theft, and anti-spyware)
2. Day 2 (Thursday, 10 Nov 2022): Online
• Topic: Safe Backup of device-data, Password protection of software and device, Safe use of Mobile, Smart Phone and Mobile Applications
3. Day 3 (Friday, 11 Nov 2022): Online
• Topic: Safe use of Internet, Wi-Fi, Hotspot, and Bluetooth / Safe use of E-mail, Identification of fake & phishing emails
4. Day 4: (Saturday, 12 Nov 2022): Online
• Topic: Safe use of Web Application, Identification of Fake Websites, Safe use of Cyber Café
5. Day 5: (Monday, 14 Nov 2022): Online
• Topic: Safe use of Social Media Platforms / Safe Online Banking
6. Day 6: (Tuesday, 15 Nov 2022): Online
• Topic: Safe Online Shopping / Safe Online Learning
7. Day 7: (Thursday, 17 Nov 2022): Online
• Topic: Types of Cyber Violence and Modus Operandi (Law & Procedure) / Law related to cyber-crime / Legal Procedure to report against Cyber Violence
8. Day 8: Assessment: (Saturday, 19 Nov 2022): Online
The workshop provided a great learning experience for the participants, covering a wide range of topics related to cybersecurity. The use of various modes, including offline and online sessions, ensured the flexibility and engagement of the participants. A comprehensive assessment was conducted on Day 8, evaluating the understanding and application of the concepts covered during the workshop.
Outcome: The participants gained valuable knowledge and skills, enhancing their awareness of safe online practices and legal remedies against cyber violence. PPTs shared during the workshop facilitated effective learning, and the assessment results were declared promptly. E-certificates were issued and emailed to the participants, acknowledging the successful completion of the workshop.
