Objective of the workshop/seminar/activity: to acquaint the student about software metrics for quality assessment.
Description:
The Department of Computer Science and IT organized a seminar on “Core Metrics in Software Engineering” led by Dr. K. P. Yadav, Director KCC Institute of Technology and Management, Greater Noida.
In this interactive session the students were given a brief description of the following:
· Introduction to software metrics
· Significance of quality assessment in project life cycle
· Important metrics in project management
· Advantage of including core metrics in software development
At the conclusion of the session the query round was held in which the students got an opportunity to put forward questions to sate their curiosity. The overall session was enlightening and the students got exposure about metrics to ensure quality assessment. The session ended with thank you note by expressing gratitude to Prof. K.P. Yadav for taking out time from his busy schedule and making the students aware of quality metrics in software engineering.
Outcome of the activity/event/seminar/workshop:
The students learned about the significance of quality assessment in software engineering. They got to know about the various quality attributes and the respective metrics used to assess each of the attributes.
