Description:

The IIS University comes up with new innovative approaches for the students pursuing a degree course in Computer Applications so that they are well aware of the current scenario and cyber threats. This time they took initiative and organized a seminar on “Ethical Hacking” lead by Mr. Rizwan Shaikh, one of the security service providers who is currently the founder of Pristine Info Solutions, a cyber-security company that specializes in cyber-crime investigation, cyber law consulting and other security services. In this interactive session the students were given a brief description of the following:

·        What is hacking?

·        Difference between ethical and unethical hacking.

·        Hacking remotely placed systems.

·        Briefed about Brute Force attacks via Office Key software.

The session continued while he explained more about making a strong and reliable password and insisted on changing it after a certain span of time to make sure every individual stays away from security breaches and claws of unethical hackers. He guided the students about the fact that “A student needs to become an unethical hacker first because if she cannot penetrate into a secure system unethically, she would never be able to protect it from being vulnerable to attacks from others.” In the conclusion the query round was held in which the students got an opportunity to put forward questions to sate their curiosity. The overall session was satisfactory and the students enjoyed it. Moreover, they are expressing their gratitude to Mr. Rizwan for taking out time from his busy schedule and making them aware of the basics of Ethical Hacking.

Outcome of the activity/event/seminar/workshop:
