Workshop on 'IBM based Cloud Software Bluemix'

Objective of the workshop/seminar/activity: to acquaint the faculty members of IBM Bluemix, a cloud based platform by Microsoft.

Department of CS & IT organized an orientation on “Introduction to Bluemix- Latest cloud offering from IBM” on 9th August 2014 in Information Technology Lab. It was attended by all the faculty members of the CS & IT Department. It was conducted by Ms. Ruchi Nanda, Senior Assistant Professor and Dr. Amita Sharma, Assistant Professor of the CS & IT Department, IISU. 

The orientation consisted of an introduction to the latest cloud technology and what role IBM has to play in it via Bluemix. Bluemix is well known used for PAAS applications. It provides an environment for developer to develop cloud based application and easily deploy them on IBM cloud.  A detailed presentation was conducted by both the faculty members along with live example demonstrating on how to create Username and ID on the IBM website and also what all features Bluemix has to offer to its clients.  The faculty members were given a live demo of the working of IBM Bluemix. Faculty members also made their logins on this platform and got an idea of its working. The lecture was very enriching and fruitful.
