The Department of CS & IT is organizing a guest lecture on “PROJECT MANAGEMENT” by Mr. Pankaj Sharma CEO, Pearl Enterprises on 20/03/2013 at 9:30 A.M in AV hall. The students are required to reach the venue 15 minutes before the commencement of the guest lecture.

This is to inform all the students of BCA, BSc.(H) and M Sc. (IT) that Department of Computer Science & IT is organizing an IT Quiz “RANDOM BITS 2013”.

Quiz will be held in two phases:-

First Phase: - Preliminary Round

The Preliminary written test will be on 27th Feb 2013 in Lab B & D at 10:30 a.m.

NOTE: - The students have to report at 10:20 a.m.

Second Phase: - Final Round

Selected students will appear for final quiz round.

On 27th Oct 2012 , a guest lecture was organized by the CS&IT department, IISU.The lecture was guided by Mr K. L. Jhawaria. He specializes in web applications security, cloud security and e-governance. The lecture was conducted on the topic ‘Project Report writing'. He briefed the students about the concepts related to project and significance of good report writing. It was an enlightening session as he shared real life experiences and told the students about the importance of a well formed report He focused on various aspects related to report writing viz. report formation, report writing, cover page framing and title selection process. The student learnt about aspects like how to select effective project title, how to plan the content of the report .It was a learning and interactive session for the students where he answered all the queries put up by the students to their full satisfaction.

All the students and faculties of TIISU are informed that the Institution of Engineering and Technology Delhi Local Network is organizing an event “Present Around the World (PATW) Competition-2013”.It is a presentation event where the emphasis is on presentation skills rather than technical contents. Presenters have to give a 10 minute presentation on engineering or technology related subject followed by 5 minutes question & answer session. Presenters have a chance to compete for various cash prizes in local, national, regional and International events including the International final prize of Rs. 75,000/- (approx.) and chance to visit London for finals. The College level competition is scheduled on 25th February 2013 at   9:30 am in A.V hall. Interested candidates can give their names to Dr. Amita Sharma and Ms. Ruchi Nanda till 20th February 2013 before 4:00 pm. Entries will be entertained on first come first serve basis.

Short listed candidates at the college level will qualify for Delhi Local Finals.

All the students are informed that the Department of CS & IT is organizing a competition “E-art-mix” in two categories:

Category I: Poster Making using e-wastes.

Category II: Utility Product Making using e-wastes.

It is a group activity and students can participate in a group of two.  Interested students can give their names to Dr. Amita Sharma and Ms Sukriti Dev Verma till 24th  September before 3:00 pm. Entries will be entertained on first come first serve basis.

Rules and Criteria for Green-e-Zone( E-Card) Competition

  1. The main theme of the contest is: “Teacher’s Day”
  2. All e-card entries must include the aforementioned theme or a creative quotation related to the above, in English.
  3. The student will be provided the software tools for the contest such as:-
    • Adobe Photoshop
    • Macromedia flash
    • Paint
    • Corel draw.
  4. Students are not required to bring their images and music files. These will be provided by the event committee.
  5. The design must be prepared on the spot and within the allotted time. i.e.  one and a half hours.
  6. Participant is prohibited from using internet and pen drives to create their design.
  7. The e-card display should include:
    • Name
    • Stream
  8. Each judge will rate each entry on a 100-point scale. The final ranking of entries will be based upon the mean of the resulting distribution of scores.

 Criteria for judging:

  • Creativity and presentation - 50%
  • Originality and resource utilization - 30%
  • Relevance to the theme - 20%
  1. The schedule of the contest shall be: September 3rd, 2012 (Monday)
    • 9:30 – 11:00 - Contest Proper
    • 11:00 – 12:00 noon - Judging
    • 12:00 – 12:30 pm - Announcement of Winners

Venue: Lab A

  1. The Judges decision shall remain final and no correspondence will be entertained.

  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Macromedia flash
  • Paint
  • Corel draw.
