All the students are informed that the Department of CS & IT is organizing a “Sudoku Master Competition”. It is a group activity and students can participate in a group of two. It has three rounds. The winners of the first round will compete in next rounds. The competition is scheduled on 21st August 2013 at 9:30 am in Lab A. Interested students can give their names to Ms. Deepshikha Bhatia and Dr Amita Sharma till 20th August 2013 before 4:00 pm. Entries will be entertained on first come first serve basis. The rules and regulation of the competition are displayed below.
Rules and Regulation of Sudoku Master Competition
- A Sudoku puzzle contains a 9X9 grid, which comprises nine 3X3 sub-grids (also called as boxes or blocks). Some of the entries in the grid are filled with numbers from 1 to 9 or character, whereas other entries are left blank.
- A Sudoku puzzle is solved by assigning numbers from 1 to 9 to the blank entries such that every row, every column, and every 3X3 sub-grid contains each of the nine possible numbers 1 to 9.
- Pattern of sudoku puzzle as follows:
- Round I: numeric (easy)
- Round II : character (medium)
- Round III: numeric (difficult)
- Time limit of each round is as follows:
- Round I: 5-8 min
- Round II: 8-10 min
- Round III:10-15 min
- The submitted solution will be judged on the time limit and accurate solution
- Contestant found cheating or messaging passing during the session will be disqualified
